Top Six Games for Mac

Minecraft

This game lets users to reach deep within their inner Bob the Builder. There is no main objective to this game except to have fun and do whatever the heck you want to. There are thousands of different things you can do, let alone build. The graphics may seem like they are made out of rubix cubes, but if you can get past that the game will be fun.

Portal 2

I’m sure you’ve heard of this game from a friend. And he described it as the best game to kill hours of time for below ten bucks, well your friend was right. This game gives you control of a gun that can shoot a beam that makes a portal in any surface and you can create the exit elsewhere with another shot of the gun. This may not seem fun but the levels are quite puzzling and entertaining.

Starcraft III

A classic to all those old PC gamers. This game goes back when I think of my middle school days. It is a strategy based, sci-fi, war game. I don’t know how else to describe it beside the fact that it rules in everyway possible! It may take awhile to pick up but it is well worth learning how to play.

Borderlands 2

This game had a lot of hype when the release date was announced after how well the first game turned out to be. The game may have not reached its hype but still exceeds the expectations of what makes a good game. The gameplay is still fun with thousands of weapons at your disposal. You also have the chance to play co-op with friends and clear objectives with them. The game will also crack you up when you least expect a laugh. Of course the characters are always the most interesting part in this game since most of them are out of their minds.

Civilization V

Oh boy, I brought up my middle school days earlier but this game may be about 5th grade days for me. I remember me and my teacher would talk about this game while the rest of the class did math problem. Civilization is one of the best strategy based series of all time! It is turn-based game that could have thousands of outcomes from one game. Civilization V is the newest game to the series and obviously the best because it has so much more substance than the old ones including new maps and countries. This series is good for you strategists out there who are always thinking of the outcome before you do the action.

Star Wars The Old Republic

I never thought I’d say I played Star Wars The Old Republic for Mac because I didn’t think I would get the opportunity. This game really has it all. It is a MMORPG that is free to play. The game has many different types of characters to choose from. You can be any species you want from the movie! You can also gain companions, such as chewy! There are many missions depending on whether you choose the light side or the dark side, so choose wisely my young jedi.

Star Wars The Old Republic for Mac

Star Wars The Old Republic Mac Version

What is SWTOR?

Star Wars The Old Republic (SWTOR) was released a few years ago as a new age MMORPG (massive-multiplayer online role-playing game) for the Star Wars Series. The game blasted off in popularity due to not having to purchase anything to play it. SWTOR offers character customization, ship optimization, and being able to pick acquaintances on missions to help you out. Players can choose to either join the Republic or the Empire, it is a true good vs evil choice. All of this is happening while many other millions of players are on servers playing along side each other for hundreds of different objectives.

How can I play SWTOR?

Unfortunately for mac gamers, Star Wars the Old Republic became available only on the PC when it was released, and there have been no plans or rumors about a mac compatible version to be made any time soon. This leaves hundreds of thousands mac users in a pickle. Unless you are filthy rich, most mac users don’t have the extra money to go out and buy a pc desktop at the moment, so there must be some way to play SWTOR on mac.

[Methods] How to Play Star Wars the Old Republic Mac

There are a few ways to play Star Wars The Old Republic mac version:

1.SWTOR compatible download
This way is probably the easiest way to play The Old Republic on Mac since this download has been formatted to work with mac. All you need is go download the app Wine, which allows Mac computers to run some necessary windows processes for this mac compatible version of SWTOR to run on your laptop. The worst part about the download is that it is linked to a survey file to get it, but there was a survey to just enter an email which only took two seconds. By far the fastest method though since you don’t have to make any purchases or install Windows to your Mac laptop.

2.Run Bootcamp or Parallels or VMWARE via Windows OS
This method can be more difficult since you will have to either purchase a lot of software or pirate a lot of it. I will not link to any pirated links in this blog since it is illegal. First, you must decide to get Bootcamp or Parallels or VMWARE. Bootcamp has been known to be the slowest of the three. The other two are a toss up, personally I’ve used both and Parallels has been much faster for me. Don’t forget you will need to get a version of Windows OS, probably vista or later. That’s why this method is not very reliable because all the expenses and download. Also, These programs tend to take up a lot of hardrive space and eat away at RAM if you are running two operating systems at one time on a laptop that was not even meant for gaming.

Checkout Points:

One thing I can say is if you can buy some gigs of RAM on Newegg or some other site, so that you have a total of 8 GB in your laptop. Make sure that your laptop can handle that much first, but this will make the game run much smoother
